His Excellency Glyn Davies US Ambassador in Thailand

Dear H.E. Glyn Davies US Ambassador of Thailand
I would like to inform you about the situation that is occurring at Temple (Wat) Phra Dhammakaya in Pathumthani Province Thailand.

Address: 23/2 Moo 7, Khlong Sam Khlong Luang Pathumthani 12120. Tel. +662-524-0257 to 63

The Abbot Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo was summoned to DSI (Department of Special Investigations) on April 25th 2016 for a crime he did not commit and is being wrongly accused for. However, due to his failing health and illness, four doctors that are caring for him have written individual doctors notes that clearly state for the abbot to rest and restrict travel as he is too weak to do so.  As a result, Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo’s lawyer sent in a request to change the meeting date and the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) received and acknowledged the request, more importantly, they accepted it.  However, now the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) is going above the Law and demanding for an arrest warrant for Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo for no credible reason. This action that the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) is taking is a clear act of unethical Government use of power and a clear violation of Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo’s human rights.

On April 27th 2016, the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) posted official papers on the front door of Temple (Wat) Phra Dhammakaya claiming that it is considered served regardless of anyone that was supposed to be served present. Even though we were approved to meet with them on the 16th of May, they still went out of their way to serve papers illegally and violate Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo’s human rights. The DSI (Department of Special Investigation) did this to make the abbot appear to be evading the meeting and is planning on using this reason to arrest him. These actions by the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) are unethical and causing the abbot’s health to worsen from the stress and fear they are forcing upon him.  The Thai media is always following the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) and every action they do.  They are purposely creating panic amongst all of Temple Phra Dhammakaya’s members and supporters both in Thailand and around the world.
Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo is promoting World Peace through meditation and teachings of Buddhism. There are some people who have been and are still trying to: violate his rights, frame him, strip him of his title, and close down his temple by any means necessary.

As the senior adviser for Temple Phra Dhammakaya, we are fearful that this injustice will violate the Human Rights of the United Nations and go unnoticed.
This temple has many members and we fear there will be an uproar if the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) attempts to arrest Phra Thepyanmahamuni Dhammachaiyo. We have many members that are outraged by the DSI (Department of Special Investigation) and if they take action, I'm afraid there may be civil unrest and potential violence.

This is a political issue and I truly need your power to help reinforce Human Rights and Social Justice. Our temple is very focused on peace and we will do our best to keep the peace, however, if the pressure becomes more than we can handle, we will take this to the United Nations international Court of Justice.

I have written a letter to the UN headquarters in New York City, and the Minister of Justice of Thailand.

Very Respectfully

Bush Cze
